John Lanham

Title

Head Golf Professional

A native of Moville, Iowa John graduated from Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina with a degree in Business Administration. In 1995 following graduation he spent five years as an assistant golf professional at El Paso Country Cub in El Paso, Texas. From there he spent three years as the lead assistant at Preston Trail Golf Club in Dallas, Texas. While at Preston Trail he gained valuable experience from several members of the Club including, Lee Trevino, Lanny Wadkins, and Byron Nelson. In 2003 John assumed his position as Head Golf Professional at Prairie Dunes becoming the third Golf Professional in the Club’s history following Charles Craig (1971-2002) and Ross Wilson (1937-1970). He is a two time award winner as the Midwest Section Merchandiser of the Year. John and his wife Kelly have four children, Emma, Jack, Will and Avery.

Cory Griess

Superintendent

Cory grew up on his family’s farm outside of Sutton, Nebraska. Stewardship and agronomy have been a part of his entire life. The enjoyment of the game steered him towards a Golf Turf Management degree. He landed Assistants positions at Shadow Ridge CC in Omaha, Ne. and Beatrice CC in Beatrice, NE out of college. He followed his future wife Abbey (Weddle) Griess to Hutchinson. As an Assistant here for 4 years under Jim Campbell, opportunity called to broaden his Midwest turf horizons leading him to Ballyneal Golf and Hunt Club for two years before returning to Prairie Dunes in 2020. Cory strives for firm and fast conditioning and playability, looking to take this course into its next era while staying true to Maxwell’s vision. Cory and Abbey have two boys Heath and Graham. You might see the four of them in the evenings making course checks and playing a quick nine.

Chauncey Ford

Office Manager

Chauncey has been employed as the Office Manager for Prairie Dunes since 1995. She grew up in Great Bend, KS and attended Barton Community College and Kansas State University. She and her husband enjoy traveling with, Colorado and Tennessee being two of their favorite locations. Chauncey has had the pleasure of working at Prairie Dunes and having the opportunity to meet such wonderful people. She is looking forward to more years to come.

Rhonda Holliday

Food & Beverage Director

Rhonda grew up in far off Nickerson, Kansas, where she graduated from Nickerson High School in 1995. She played basketball for Pratt Community College before joining Prairie Dunes as a waitress in 1998. In 2000, Rhonda took an opportunity to make the move to the Hutchinson Town Club, which would be her professional home for the next 14 years. Rhonda then came back to Prairie Dunes, this time as Assistant Food and Beverage Manager. She held this position for 2 years, before returning to the Town Club as the General Manager. After the Town Club closed, Rhonda brought her experience and expertise back to Prairie Dunes, this time as the Food and Beverage Director. Rhonda has been steadily working her way up in the industry, serving the members of Hutchinson and beyond for 22 years. She has built a strong rapport with the members and is happy to have met some great people.

Rick Carr

Executive Chef

Chef Rick has been the Executive Chef of Prairie Dunes since 2012. He previously spent 14 years working for the Marriott Corporation. In 2002, Chef won the prestigious Iron Chef award obtaining the highest ranked guest satisfaction scores in Corporate Marriott Midwest Region. Prior to his success at Marriott, he was the Exec. Chef at Terradyne Country Club in Wichita. Chef entered the food industry in 1986 and would go on to join the American Culinary Federation (ACF) in 1993. He has trained in classical culinary arts through multiple programs, including the ACF Culinary classes, apprenticeships with Certified Exec. Chefs, the National Restaurant Administration, and Marriott International. He and his wife Debra were married in 2017, and they have 5 children between them. They are members of the Kansas Pond Society, enjoy spending time outdoors around their Koi pond with their 2 boxers. Chef's hobbies are restoring classic cars, pinball machines, gardening and of course, cooking.

Director of Tennis & Wellness

Max is a Kansas Native, and has been actively coaching tennis for the past 5 years. He is a USPTA Certified Professional, as well as a member of the USPTA Missouri Valley Board of Directors. His coaching philosophy focusses on the fundamentals and creating a fun learning environment for all his students.
